Relay Chain
A relay chain is the central blockchain in a multi-chain network, responsible for coordinating and securing the entire network. In Polkadot, for example, the relay chain manages communication and consensus between individual parachains, ensuring interoperability and security across the network. The relay chain does not execute smart contracts or handle complex computations directly; instead, it delegates these tasks to parachains. Its primary function is to validate blocks from parachains and ensure the network operates seamlessly.
